Hi I have a slight problem and need some advice, 5 months ago I bought 2 mobile phones (for my self and hubby)from the mobs.com, the line rental is £35 each per phone but they were doing a special deal where on 1 of the phones after 4 months i get a free xbox 360 and on the other phone i took the cashback option which i receive £340 in 2 installments making the line rental £3.99 per month.
Any way I saved up my first 4 statements as said and sent off a cheque for £9.99 P+P. The cheque was cashed and I waited for my xbox for over a month, but it hasnt come i have tried all the customer service number which have been cut off and have just been on their website which has been shut down.
What can i do, obviously they have gone bankrupt or something but now I am paying 3 (network) £70 a month for nothing do you think 3 can reduce my monthly charge due to the fact I will not receive my cashback or xbox, and why did themobs cash my cheque for p+P if they had no intention of posting my gift!

It sounds like a bit of a dodgey scam, sorry to hear about your loss but if future you should stick to known names of phone shops. Or got it directly off the tarif.

proves again how most companies are just in it to scam and loot people ala farepak. im sorry to hear about that but there has to be a way of you getting your money back. yes ring 3 they should help. explain to them about the cashback deal. i think you should threaten to cancel the contract.
also see you attorney and ask them for advice.
p.s. next time i think you should buy from a reputable company such as ones you know wont scam you eg carphone warehouse, phones 4 u.

That seems like a really shady situation. I haven't ever signed up for phones and received anything like an xbox 360. It definitely sounds like a scam. If it's something you want to pursue, get an attorney.
