Should transracial adoption be allowed to increase? i attended a seminar recently on this subject and i personally think yes it should. i consider love, kindness, and exceptance to be the most important factors in raising a child. obvisously there are plenty(endless) of otherr factors involved. The main argument is that of providing suffient cultural knowledge and history in order for the child to develop to the best of their ability, and i completely agree these are extremely important. but surely when there are millions of children needing loving homes and there are millions of loving homes wanting children this is what matters?? what do you think??

Small children appear to be colour blind in terms of race and have no problem in developing a close loving relationship with people of other races. The problems here would be with the attitudes of other people. If those can be overcome, then there is no argument that I can think of against transracial adoption. It is surely preferable for any child to grow up in a loving home than on the streets or in an institution. It seems a pity that the authorities seem to place so many hurdles in the path of adoption -- for example, age. I don't understand why when a woman is still biologically capable of reproducing, say 40, the adoption authorities should consider her too old to adopt a baby.

I desperately want children, I'm still young though so my girlfrind is still getting used to this idea of mine. If I were to find out that I can not reproduce, I would be utterly dissapointed, my spirit crushed
and my soul pained. The only option that would be best left to me would be adoption, and no childs mother will let me adopt their well provided for child, so why not if there are any available let me adopt a child from a different race and culture.

This also certainly helps to forge awareness between cultures, as the kid grows they will want to know of their roots which if granted this will be a learning experience along with the foster transratial parents.

Even scientifically this will really be helpful because if you remember history well the Germans and the English swopped kingdoms because of deformaties which arose from same gene intergration(the kingdoms were marrying cousins and that sort which is why they had some deformaties), so this will strengthen the genetic vibes in our races later on as the adopted kids will likely go out with different races.

Sometimes with everything you can possibly do, an adopted child feels abandoned by their birth parents. In a trans-racial adoption there can be yet another sense of loss from one's traditional home. If at all possible the child should be kept within the birth parents' culture. If not, then a loving home is better than being in an orphanage. But be prepared. Keep your own identity and have a life that is not totally tied up with the child. Your own strength will be very valuable to both of you.

The most important factor is that the child has a loving, stable, supportive home. Race doesn't figure into it at all.

i believe that in the interest of the children a good stable loving home is what they want and they all need the best we can give them. so to your question my answer is yes it should be allowed to increase if there are not enough homes within there own race.

When there are no other options closer to home for the child, then yes, but only then.
