A line, no matter how faint, is a line, and therefore yes you are pregnant. Also you cannot get a false positive.
Congratulations.

I agree with Kiah's response. You must read the test within the stated time frame for the test. After that time period the test is no longer accurate. I think it may be a little too early to test yourself since you were just supposed to get your period today. But I understand cause I did the same thing. You should try the pregnancy tests that say they give early responses. I agree with the others that a line is a line as long as you follow the directions on the box. By the way, why are you keeping your'e old tests? lol If you are not sure you have two options...1. have a blood test done or 2. take another pregnancy test...preferably the ones that say "pregnant" or "not pregnant." Of course if it comes back positive you should have the blood test done anyway. I'd make an appointment today cause it may take a couple of weeks before they can even schedule you in. Also unless the test is expired they should be accurate...I don't think it is a matter of which brand you use. Best wishes for you.

Now that your period is late I would retake a pregnancy test.Iif you are looking at pregnancy test that u took 2 days ago it could be evaporation lines.
Here is what I did in September when I found out that I was pregnant I peed in a plastic disposal cup then read how long they suggested that I leave the test in the urine. then read the results after the recommended amount of time (Usually 1-3 minutes). I got a earlier and more accurater result that way. I did pee on one too. It was negative while the others were positive ( I am indeed Pregnant). Hope this helps good luck!!!

It is most important that you only read the result within the time the test indicates. HCG is something that occurs naturally within our bodies, even when not pregnant, and the test is designed to pick up elevated amounts. That is why it is important to never interpret the results beyond the 10 minute window most tests suggest. Now, it is possible to have a false positive test. That is a test that fails to detect a pregnancy. But i have never heard of a false positive, unless the results were red after 10 mins. I would start over with a fresh test and first morning and follow the directions as precisely as possible. If you see even the faintest line, then CONGRATS! Good luck!

As many people have written, a faint line is generally a sign of *something.* I wouldn't waste money on another test; go to your doctor and have a conclusive blood test done. A family planning clinic will more than likely just do another urine test.
If you aren't pregnant, sometimes tests will be positive because you were. Is it possible you could have gotten pregnant and not known it? If you were to miscarry in the first or second month, many times women have this happen and never know. What appears to be a heavier period and cramping is actually a miscarriage. It happens more often than we realize.

Again a faint line.. no matter how faint usually indicates pregnancy... you could get the clear blue digital test which will state it clearly.. either pregnant or not.. but if money is tight then waiting a couple more days may be more practical and then popping down the doctors or testing again. If you can't wait to see, (I know how hard waiting can be) then doctors will still test now..
Good luck to you.. I hope everything works out :)

I doubt it. If you were pregnant, the test would've shown a definate positive, there is no in between or a MAYBE. There's only positive or negative and if it showed negative, with a faint line, it must be negative.
You are just paranoid and you are actually convincing yourself that you are pregnant and you are seeing things. Isn't your period just a bit late?Back ache and sore boobs are also pre-menstrual symptoms, so it must mean that your period is coming soon.Wait a while(about a month) and if your period still hasn't come, then you should start thinking about going to get a blood test. Good luck

A doctor will give you a free pregnancy test.
It doesn't matter how feint the line is, any line is a positive test. You should not re-look at old tests however, as the results are invalid after an hour or so.
Have you been trying to get pregnant? Did you have intercourse before or around the middle of your cycle?

I agree with Cherry on this. Congratulations! I have the same thing with my first two babies. I remember with my second, I was about to throw the test away when I noticed the faintest line. At first I wasn't entirely sure I wasn't imagining it! I would call your doctor for an appointment. They usually do a blood test, which is more accurate, at your first visit. It might also put your mind at ease to take another test. In my experience, the generic ones are best. Take it first thing in the morning, because your urine will have more of the hormone that's being tested for.

Even a faint line indicates a positive result. Book an appointment with your GP or Practice Nurse who will do another test and it will be free of charge.
Good luck and congratulations x

that doesn't sound reliable. You shouldn't check tests that you've done before as the line that appears doesn't mean your pregnant at all.
Tests are usually pretty accurate but show a very distinct line. You need to wait a while longer before doing it again. Or go and see your Doctor.
I wouldn't worry too much just yet but I also would definitely not trust the tests you did before.
