Sonic X
While the story, action, or diolouge isn't always too serious, there's still something very intriguing about this series (especially for those who enjoy playing any of both the old and new Sonic games). The high speed and (sometimes) explosive action is the main highlight that makes this more then your average Saturday morning kids cartoon, and the classic characters are what make it interesting to watch as they progress along a plot line that, while not being too serious, is serious enough to keep anyone who enjoyed the Sonic games to still wacth it. If someone made a modern day Anime based on the Mario Bro.s games, and made it just like Sonic Team made Sonic X, it would still hold out just becuase of the many dedicated fans (Yes, I know that there was a cartoon based on the Mario Bro.s games, but that was way too long ago for it to be real anime).
My only pet peeve is that the while the original Japanese version has more intense action then the English version, along with a more mature diolouge, the BGM has just too much techno. Then you've got the English version, that, while not as mature in diolouge and story, is intriguing (at least to me) because of it's orchestrated BGM.

My all time favorite is Vampire Hunter D. I know much of my reasoning for this has to do with the nostalgic memories that surround this movie and me. VHD was my first glimpse into the world of anime. The idea that others thought about crazy parallel realties where anything goes was quite exhilarating and to see it presented as a comprehensible story in a beautiful art form was just mind blowing.
I know VHD isn’t perfect; the graphics are old school and the voice-overs are well…not the best, but the characters are intriguing and I am still completely enthralled with that crazy post apocalyptic/futuristic/historic world it is set in.
I do think there are allot of animes right up there with VHD; Cowboy Beebop, Witch Hunter Robin, Nausicaa, just to name a few, but VHD will always own my favor rights.

Cowboy Bebop.
I love it because of the great characters. They are original and intelligent. The concept of the animation and serie is great and thoughtful. The music is great. Really good jazz. The main story is extremely interesting. Spike and Vicious are great rivals. The whole 'atmosphere' of the show is tangible. Those that have only watched the movie are missing a lot because the serie is so much better. I highly recommend it to any anime lover. It's not for kids...

There are too many to love but my all time favorite has to be Kino's Journey. It has something for everyone(literally) and it is one of the most underrated anime ever!!!!!
The voice actors portray their characters well in both English and Japanese. The character relationships are clear from start to finish. Most importantly, the reason why Kino is my favorite is because it really makes you think about life and what's important. Then again, it can also make you think whoever came up with this had to be on drugs.

Ruruoni Kenshin - Both MangA & Anime!! (a.k.a Samurai X)
Absolutely great story about the samurais from the past age, a good mixture of fighting and passion!!
Just a bit pity that the anime didn't follow through the manga till the end, as the revenge of Kenshin's wife psycho brother was cut out....
Those who like the anime, must die die try the MangA!!!

Honey And Clover I guess, it's always been the best anime! It puts a smile on your face and warms your heart, and the story, unlike other animes, are realistic! Besides, I bet everyone else would've chosen Naruto/FMA (Good anime, but I guess FMA is better) ... also, Honey and Clover has a good set of anime music, and stories and lessons as well, makes me cry and laugh at the same time, I would probably suggest everybody to watch it ... And FYI, this anime, doesn't have any porn stuff ... okay, but only one one episode!! But, anyway, I like this anime no matter what!! Go Honey and Clover!! Go Shinobu-san!! Go Ayumi-san!! Go Umino-san!!

I absolutely looooooved Sailor Moon when I was a little kid... I didn't even know it was actually Japanese ( I watched the dubbed version) and I just figured out that it WAS Japanese about a year ago *sad, I know* and so I started watching the Japanese versions (with subtitles) and it is sooooooooo much better than the dubbed version. I can't believe how much they hid and cut out! I guess I liked it because it was all about how love conquers all, and I'm really quite a romantic person. And it wasn't very realistic at all, I guess I liked the fairy story element of it as well..
