Does a heart ever get better after it has been broken?

Yes!

Statistically men marry again within two years of a wife dying... so that means they must start dating again pretty quickly after having their heart broken! Women, on the other hand, wait around five years... Much more loyal!

Oh, yes. Heartbreak. I'm there, too... It does get better. Here's some of the advice that I've been given over the years:
Keep busy, but don't overload yourself with work.
Do something active, maybe take up a new sport or restart an old one, the activity makes you feel stronger & more positive.
Make some changes - is it finally time to repaint that kitchen wall ORANGE??? Throw out all those old shoes?
Rope friends into help you with repainting or choosing a new style of shoes or planning an evening out.
Schedule 'me' time to do something you enjoy - walk in the fields, spend the evening in the bath, bake...being alone can be just fine ;)
Be nice to others - hold a door open for someone, help that old lady get on the bus, smile at someone in the street who looks sad - you'd like it if someone did it for you, wouldn't you?
And look after that heart - getting broken is part of its function. Healing is another. Loving again is another...Funnily enough, it does seem to get stronger after each break!
Good luck!

The Heart is the centrist of our very being, The very definition of heart is :6a.the central and inter most part.6b.the essential or most vital part of something.
What happens when you break a glass? it shatters. if you want to take the time to glue the pieces back together, you might and I say might actually be able to use the glass again, but you may be scared that it will hurt you if you drink from it.So you put it away for a while. and eventually you decide to drink from another. WITHOUT the fear of being hurt (by the glass)

The heart is similar to the glass in that by putting the pieces back together, doesn't necessarily mean that it will be fixed.
Don't ever through the broken glass away...learn from it and try to be care-full the next time.

In my opinion, healing takes time. It's best to find somethign that can keep one self active so as not to constantly be thinking about the pain. I do feel a heart can be mended from a heart break, it just takes time.

On the funny side, a saying goes "Best way to mend a broken heart is with scotch tape"

Yes, your heart does heal in time. The only thing is that every time your heart gets broken, it tends to leave a scar. It has healed but there's a little reminder left behind. When you find "the one" you will find your heart will heal for good. So, don't give up...it gets better.

From my experience, I would say it adapts after a while. I mean I still care about my ex, and my heart has accepted that we can't be 2gether, it still hurts but not as much as it did before. I gusse in time it will be healed. After all 'time does heal all wounds'.

You've heard the saying "time heals all wounds"? It truly does. It can take a very long time, but you will recover and move on. It helps to start seeing other people, just don't get "involved" right away.

AT THE TIME YOU FEEL NO. BUT IT REALLY DOES GET EASIER, YOU NEVER FORGET THE PERSON AND THEY ALWAYS HOLD A PLACE IN YOUR HEART, BUT THE PAIN(SOMETIMES IT FEELS PHYSICAL) DOES EASE, THE OLD SAYING, TIME HEALS, IS TRUE TO A POINT, I'M NOT SURE IF IT HEALS, BUT IT DOES DIMMER A BIT, AND LIFE DOES GO ON AND WE HAVE TO RUN WITH IT.
