The Yankees in 2007 will have: Wang, Johnson, Mussina, Pavano, Igawa, and Pettite for their starting rotation.

Their bullpen: Rivera, Proctor, Villone, and Farnsworth

Their prospects: Hughes and Sanchez

Not to mention their offense has: Damon, Jeter, Abreu, Rodriguez, Giambi, Posada, Matsui, and Cano.

This is an all-star team.

Some of you people have to stop blaming my beloved Yankees for spending millions of dollars. All teams are spending millions of dollars. Everyone is trying to buy their way to a championship. So this notion that the Yankees are the only team doing it is crap!! As far as the Twins are concerned, the Yankees would pound their silly buts into the ground 7 out of every 10 times they'd play, maybe 8!

Now getting down to business, this lineup should win between 100 and 110 games next season. If each player plays according to their individual career stats, nothing more or nothing less, they will win it all.

And yes, baseball fans, the New York Yankees are the best sports franchise in the world!!

It ALWAYS looks good on paper. It's been an all-star team for quite some time now. The Yankees can't manage to get it done. I've heard "The new murderers row" for the last 6 years now. So where is a WS ring in the last 6 years? It's been proven that all-star teams just don't work. Too many egos, too much stuff taken for granted, not enough "team work". Also there are too many veteran players relied upon. They all wind up on the DL and are breaking down. The Yankees always seem to fall in love with veteran pitchers on the downside. Steinbrenner just wants the name. It's time to mix in some rebuilding (which looks promising for '07) I really admire the '06 Tigers, I think this is the direction the Yankees need to take.

Wang is hot and cold; Johnson has seen his better days; Mussina is the only quality pitcher they have, and he cannot carry the team; Pavano is a BIG disappointment; and Igawa is yet to be tested. Their pitching is mighty thin and will once again be the downfall of the mighty Yankees.

Chow!!

The Yankees haven't signed Pettitte yet. So, the Yankees field an All-Star at every position, what did that get them last year? a first round exit in the playoffs. This team lacks what made them great from 96-2001 and that's team chemistry. You can't just buy aging free agents well past their prime, some with personalities and expect them to gel, get along with eachother and win. I like the emergence of Melky and the promise of Philip Hughes. Hopefully, this will be a good sign that the Yankees can start to look at getting younger for their future.

We only have to hope that there will be no injuries and Pavano finally decides to show up for a season. I went to Yankee Stadium five times last season, and never once did I see Matsui. :( But there is a huge chance that I might be going to Old Timer's Day. Looking foward to that like crazy.

I think this is a entirely realistic lineup and pitching rotation. i really hope they get Petitte so he doesn't have to rot in Houston. Andy is a proven New York player and he has some good numbers. Yes this is an all star team on paper but right now I wouldn't get to excited until mid-season or so.

The 2007 vast apple Yankees: the place gamers grow to be Legends. And the legend of 1978 looms super. it is not 1977, this is 1978. The Bronx is Burning, and the back Bay is going down in flames. look out, Sox, here we come. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I think they should have a staff that many Yankee fans can relate to with either Small - Wang or Small - Johnson in the backend of the rotation.

first let me say to the person 5 doors up, no money also cant buy a world series ring ie: Twins......That being said I now return to my favorite pastime talking about the MIGHTY YANKEES.. Yes things look great on paper but we must look back only as far as Last season to remind us that it must also look good on the field!!But after all is said and done at the end of the day ONCE AGAIN the lord of the infield will have carried HIS team to another round in the playoffs... after that it is up to the somewhat Shakey pitching staff to assume their roles and put up the numbers that are expected of them!!!!
