Invest in a better cable that has less feedback. Thats the easiest but it might not solve the problem and you might end up with a nice gold plated cable that still hums.

Your best bet is to buy a straight converter that plugs into the input AV connections of your CD player. This will produce good sound quality, and is very easy to install.

you might be using a non shielded cable. or your Ipod volume is too high. use the volume on the car to boost the volume not the Ipod.
