No matter how careful I am or what brand of pantyhose I get, within 2 days, they end up with a run or a tear. Is this normal or am I just clumsy?

A little of both. Cheaper or sheerer hose are likely to tear (cheap because of the quality, sheer because of how fine it is). Heavier hose, support hose, and tights will last much longer. I usually get about a week, sometimes two out of mine.

My biggest pantyhose enemies...my cat and being rushed out of the restroom so I pull them up too fast.

Yes, it is an unwritten rule that the women in my office not go bare legged. If we are wearing skirts we should wear hosiery. They feel that it looks more professional. I wear Thigh Highs quite a lot, but I wear Pantyhose as well. I don't waste my time and money on the cheap Thigh Highs, the ones with the little squiggles of plastic glue around the tops, that keep the hose up for about an hour if you don't move. I wear the moderately expensive Thigh Highs that have real elastic tops, like the kind on underwear, they also last longer and resist runs better. Jockey are best or Pretty Polly Sheers if I can find them in my size. (medium)

Yes, you are really clumsy, I wear my pantyhose at least ten times before getting a runner

you are a bit clumsy I guess! good brands should last..
I have a tip... if you are at work or so, when you get a run in your pantyhose, at the very end apply some nail polish... it should stop it from running downwards even more and avoid embarrassment!

I hate to say it but your somewhat clumsy, my pantyhose can last for weeks and a month at a time. You have to be very careful when wearing them not to get a runner.

I know my problem with pantyhose is either nails or my heels, which will get rough very easily, and bingo - there goes another pair! Of course, I save them because my b/f wants me in pantyhose when we have sex, so I try to use older ones when he gets horny (I keep a lot of older ones...

You gals want sheer so you get it and then complain. They do make pantyhose that will last but most of you call them tights.

The cheaper hoses will run quicker. It pays to go out to a named department store and buy a more expensive pair. You will probably get double the wear from the. There will always be the mishaps of snagging them, but just from normal wear, they will outlast the cheaper, everyday brands.

it depends on what is causing them. if your getting snagged on stuff or what... there is some kind of hose..can't remember the name, but they are suppose to be snag proof.. run proof..ask around.
