We all know Rudolf, Frosty, Jingle Bells, and others...but why haven't there been any NEW Christmas songs that have become classics in the last couple decades? Also, HOW OLD are some of the songs we know?

Bette Midler has a new Christmas album out this year, and the list of song titles on it looks like there may be some new songs for you. You can go to a Barnes and Noble and listen to it, to see if you like it before you buy.

Happy Holidays!

For the same reason we don't have regular classics anymore. Rap and songs that don't have much meaning.
People have lost the desire of writting songs that touch the heart.

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer was written and recorded by Gene Autry in the late 40s or early fifties. I'm 68 yrs old and I remember Silent Night, Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Deck The Halls, Away In A Manger and so on from the first grade. So they must have been written a very long time ago.

There are new Christmas songs every year.....last year the one of choice was Father Christmas.

I love Bob and Doug's 12 days of Christmas and anything by the Trans Siberian Orchestra with Metallica. Do They Know It's Christmas from the 80's are another fave, and the Pouge's Fairytale in New York.

Just look around. Tons of Christmas stuff to choose from!

it's hard to come up with new christmas songs.
it's hard because there is a lot of them
and most importantly people grew up with
these songs and love them. im a 16 vietnamese
and i love the old christmas songs.
these songs are old, some are kinda present
but most are in the 1950's and below. it even goes
all the way back when they first celebrated
christmas, which was over 500 years ago.
