Web pages are created using a language called HTML. There is a standard definition of HTML and all browser are designed to work with the standard. However each browser has added some "extras" to the way it reads HTML to allow for some fancy features that are not standard.

If a web page (such as a myspace) is created using one of the HTML tags that is unique to IE, that tag will not work properly in a different browser, such as Firefox, Netscape, Opera, etc. Reverse is also true. If a Firefox only tag is used on a web page, it will not display correctly on IE.

So the issue is not really with Firefox, but with the tags or features used on the web page. When designing your page (myspace or elsewhere) it is recommnded that you test the page using IE, Firefox, Netscape and Opera. On time opening the page with another browser will let you know if there is an issue with the page. Often if minor adjustment and you can get it working with all the browsers. It is a simple courtesy to those who use other browsers.

anyway

Since firefox is new, you dont fine many malwares to effect the browser unlike IE which has been found with many security holes and bugs since ages and hackers have a good experience in how to crack IE. For now I feel Firefox to be safer and better than IE. But not for long.
