No. Its a free media player used to play music and videos etc. I think there is a free version and a pay version. The free one is fine to use.

quicktime is a free media player designed by Apple that will play a lot of media types but is primarily used for .mpg or .mov media files. Quicktime drivers are used also with iTunes.
