I identify myself as a TS woman. My family thinks I am gay and are pretty open to me dating men. They have no idea that I have been taking steps to change my body. I am visiting them in a couple of months and I cannot pass as male at all. I know it is time that I tell them the truth, just not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? How did it go for some of you?

Not an easy task, but I would tell them before showing up. Maybe even send them a picture of you now. If they are open to your being gay then they should be open to your being of transgender.Good luck and enjoy your transition and being a real women in the future

Wow!! That is going to be quite a shock to them. Maybe you should talk to them about it now and see how they react instead of waiting and possibly being thrown out. If they have come to terms with you being gay them more than likely they will come to terms with you being a TS woman, it will just take them more time.

i'm having trouble just being accepted as gay. i wouldn't know about the next step, but if that's who you feel comfortable as and your parents accept you seeing males, then i don't see why they wouldn't accept the more socially accepted what appears like heterosexual relations in the public eye that is if your TS transformation really gets you to pass as female. but if you were their son, i think it may take some time for them to adjust to having a daughter. wow SHOCKING!!! good luck tho lol.

i did it this way..... i showed up at my parents house dressed in a very expensive suit, blouse, heels, the works. my mother answered the door and asked me "can i help you ma'am?". it was all i could do to keep from laughing right then and there. when i finally spoke up and told her that it was me "her son", she dammed near fainted. we then went inside and i told her the whole story from the beginning. unfortunately, it was also the last time i have spoken to either of my parents as they have barred me from their home and refuse to talk to me at all. so on one hand it went well, on the other hand it didnt do so hot.

if you're a man - crossdress and introduce yourself as your girlfriend then show them the sausage package.
if you're a woman - crossdress and introduce yourself as your boyfriend, then show them the tuna package.
Then watch the expression on their faces while they disown you.
