In my old high school, everytime someone was found to be gay there would immediately be gossiping and whispering and stupidity. Are gays and lesbians really such big outcasts?

People will always gossip about things that they dont know about and wont like people that are different from them.
But the main reason why i think why straight people dont like gays and lesbians are the fact that (i hope im not offending anyone) just telling you what some believe its not all people>
that especially gays are promiscuous, and theres alot of them that have aids. And also another reason might be from a religious stand point, where most believe its against their religion to have s*x with the same sex.
But personally i think every person has their own life to live and if you fall in love with with the same sex....so be it.....love has no boundaries. and why should you make exceptions for other people.

No not so much anymore, but there are the occasional ignorant people that have to be educated from time to time. Pretty typical though every city seem to come equiped with them. I just live life to the fullest, and it is what it is. People can't change that no matter how much they say it's a sin!

I personally accept people for who they are rather than their judging them based on their sexual preference but I live in a small rural town where gays and lesbians are shunned, ridiculed and openly bullied and thats by parents in front of their children. I was not born in this town, I was raised in the city where people are more accepting.
It is sad and it makes me angry that people feel the need to put someone else down to make themselves feel superior.

I am completely accepting of gays. My brother is gay and he is a very popular person at his work. Teenagers tend to want to be accepted by their friends, so if one person laughs and talks about someone who is gay others might to just to feel accepted.
