The mind is the source of the tool, logic; the mind is not susceptible to dissection by what it provides. Questioning must aim higher to apprehend the mind; logic, by necessity, aims lower.

To quote Heidegger:
"The idea of 'logic' itself disintegrates in the turbulence of a more original questioning."

To "work" I assume you mean to understand consciousness. Understanding consciousness requires a different paradigm from the mechanistic approach used in all the physical sciences. Consciousness is ultimately not a product of the physical realm;, it is a spiritual energy and therefore not subject to control, measurement, experiment, etc. with our physical senses. Consciousness can only be understood when consciousness is purified of material conceptions that 'contaminate' consciousness from the lower levels of the mental, intellectual, and physical platforms. Purification of consciousness is the subject of what is called 'self-realization' in the West and 'yoga' in the East.
