The reason for Divorce in this case according to facts you mention is required to prove her adultery. For the evidence you require is eye witnesses who see her going to her boy friend house, or some letter written by her to him or eye witness who saw her doing act of adultery with him. Without any of such evidence you cannot get divorce as the charge of adultery is very serious one & must be proved in the court of law.

uh, well you know finding proof of cheating won't be that hard. He could look at her cell phone bill get the guys number and then his address, or hire a detective. Lots of them aren't that expensive anymore these days. Hell, even a friend with some spare time and a camera could do the job.
Ask the sister if she was there. Go to Radio Shack and tell them you want to be able to record your phone conversations. Then tape the sister saying she wasn't there. Then call up the wife and do the same thing. If the wife says she was there, play the sister's answer on the tape.
and you don't need evidence of cheating to get a divorce. It's called irreconcilable differences.

How do you know that she went to her boyfriend's house and not to her sister's? Even if she didn't turn up at her sister's house, doesn't mean that she was visiting her boyfriend. In order to make an accusation like that, somebody should have seen her entering or leaving her boyfriend's house. And in that case the name of and address of her boyfriend will be known automatically. In the absence of credible evidence, these are wild accusations which can cut both ways. I mean your friend going out for some work may find himself being accused similarly by his wife on returning home. If there are reasonable grounds for suspicion, keep a tab on her movements or the company she keeps. If there is a grain of truth in that suspicion, she would betray herself one day or the other. Your friend may hire the services of private detectives for such purpose.

If you are wanting to divorce your wife on the strength of others accusations then your marriage was no good in the first place. Trust is the most important thing in a marriage. Ok, so she did not go to a friends house, but maybe it is bcause she wanted to get away on her own for a while Possesiveness and jealousy destroys relationships. Please, take time out to give her space and try to not be suspicious and possesive and you may find you have a wonderful marriage,

Your friend can hire a detective agency for shadowing his wife to obtain evidence. As he is sure that she is cheating he can obtain divorce even without evidence if he wishes to get rid of her on some other grounds.

See a lawyer, get a investigator, visiting a bf, is not an divorce able offence, adultery is.
Some people(woman) do have need for a friend.
But, there is even a simple way, both have be focused on the issue, it is, is marriage over, if both agree then, they do not need a lawyer or the investigator.
But there are lawyer who do uncontested divorces for about $200.00 in USA. If it is simple uncontested.

He can always file for divorce without evidence, but whether she consents to a divorce and signs the papers is another matter. If she will not consent to a divorce he may have to wait up to 5 years (UK law) to divorce without consent.

I don't think evidence is required to file for a divorce. If the guy is sure she is cheating, file for a divorce.
