Or would I need to offer another therapy too? Any suggestions?

Hi Hank Hill,
I have to dissagree with you calling Reiki "faith based stuff". I have never had "faith" in it - I tried it, it worked, I feel & experience it working every day & know it works. I am not someone who "believes" in things lol.

As with anything, the more you have to offer, the more people you can serve.

Yes it's possible to make a living giving only one kind of therapy, but you'll have to work very hard at marketing yourself on an ongoing basis. Building a network of other professionals who will refer people to you helps. Good luck!

Depends on what part of the country you live in, some of what "Hank Hill" said is true. I have a friend who is a Reiki Master, In NC. In the "Bible Belt" it is harder to get people on board for that type of therapy. There are a few people I know who do Reiki in KY, again, not a whole lot of business there. It's the mind set people are brought up with. I'm a massage therapist, and we were introduced to a lot of alternative therapies, to give us an idea of directions to go to continue our education.
Making a living at it? You probably could, but it takes a long time to build up a consistent regular client base.

Absolutely and also you will have to. I am a Reiki Master trainer and that is the essential factor that are supposed to be trained in stage one million Reiki, self cure. I amd sorry in case your Reiki trainer didn't train you this. You simply lay arms in your possess frame and channel the vigour via. The Reiki trainer sould endorse that you just do self cure everyday for no less than thirty days after every attunement you acquire to a brand new stage of reiki. It is quality any time for each small and enormous disorders. I do it nearly everyday. I nonetheless like to acquire therapy from a different practitioner most of the time as good due to the fact there's not anything like simply being competent to calm down and acquire.

I also agree with what Hank Hill said.

There are a lot of people who are turned off by alternative therapies because it conflicts with their religious beliefs- that's just the facts. I guess it would depend on your clientele and demand/interest for Reiki where you practice, and if it was enough for you to be successful with it full time, and make a living.

A few of the people I know who do Reiki, do all types of massage. Like the others said, it might be to your advantage to be able to offer different therapies to appeal to a wider group of people.

Just my 2 cents.

That would be tough to do as most people consider it nonsense and usually don't try it at all and if they do they don't do it again. There are of course a few people that believe in anything and will ask for it more than once.

You really need to stick with the basics of Swedish and firm Swedish and deep tissue massage as your calling card. The other, more faith based stuff should be something you offer for those interested.

my boss is a reiki master and does just that... there are alot of clts looking for reiki you just have to promote yourself well.. but on the otherhand having more than one modality under your belt make you more valuable... I would look into Orthobiotomy.. lots of energy work involved .. they would go nicely together...
