Ok hi there , theres a persuasive essay that i have to write and its that...
The mayor is trying to decide whether a 7:00 pm curfew to all students under the age of 16 should be set out.
I have gone for the curfew even though thats not what i trully agree with but teacher said it would be easier since theres more reasons why to enact this curfew...only thing is i cant think of any more reasons besides that its good for their safety and better for their school work...do you have any ideas on what else...or even going against it...any ideas at all...thank you all in advance.

I cant think of any other reasons but do have a suggestion. Try going into why it's safer. What do teens do after 7pm? drink, have sex, do drugs, get into accidents commit crimes get into fights, are abused kidnapped killed ect... I also would be against a curfew and I'm well out of my teens. As for that position simple freedom and parental rights would be the main points. Should a local government have the right to take away my rights as a parent to allow my child to be away from home at any time? Doesn't the child have some sort of rights also? What about sporting events, school dances, plays, jobs all things teens should be able to do. Our government is trying to raise our children for us by placing laws and rules on them that restrict their natural rights to be young and carefree. This in the end will cause more harm then good. When you take away basic activities and freedoms you get rebellion. By restricting them you've practically turned them into prisoners who have committed no crime.

I have to say that your teacher is wrong - there may be a good reason curfews - but one that early at night is silly and not even feasible to be enforced. What a horrible idea!!!

If they had to be in by 7:00 it would encourage "family time". They would have a few hours before going to bed to spend with their family playing a game, watching a movie, or just talking with each other. It would also keep them out of trouble along with their safety.

You could explore the merits of increased family time and building that cohesion with the family that will remain for life.
