Dumb no. Immature yes. In five-ten years if you went back and read your question you would understand. I am glad you kept your child and are trying to make things work for you, but obviously you have yet to learn the life skill of hearing what others have to say without taking it to heart. You only seem to get defensive about it. If you stay that way, you are in for a lifetime of problems. One last thing: If you are trying to make a case for your intelligence, try proper grammar, capitalization, and punctuation like - I'm not i;m - and - because not cause.

That would be because most teens don't want to admit to making a mistake! Its hard to raise a child on your own and often teens don't like to admit to things being difficult. Its easier to act and pretend nothing is wrong. However while they may be making mistakes so are you by grouping all teens together and not admitting some teens might admit to being wrong and needing help. Also please if your going to insult other teens and call them stupid at least spell correctly and perhaps make complete sentences! That advice is from a very mature adult! Good luck!

The only people I think would be dumb, are the ones who drop of out school, dont work and pop out babies to get more money from the gov. I had a friend in school who got preg when she was 16. She was at school everyday until she was due, then she came back to school a week later, with all of her hw caught up. She grad with honors and went onto college.

I don't think you are dumb, but not planned. It's good to hear you go to school and have a job and are working toward a good life. I planned for my son at the age of 24 and financially stable and wow it was still an awakening when he came and all of the sudden was 2. Don't be so disheartened by what others think and do your best. You are all your child has and being bitter towards anyone won't benefit either of you. Who cares that you got pregnant as a teen as long as you are working towards a good life? Take care.

I guess teen moms might not be mature enough to deal with education and health care of a baby.
It's not a matter of rules or standards, but a natural condition of life.
Years give conscience, responsibility, more rational actions and behavior.
That doesn't mean a teen cannot play her part on being a nice mom.
Maybe it gives less time to enjoy teenage, or to have youth fun, and abdicate from some life levels...
I guess if you make an effort, listen to elder and lead yourself to improvement, you can do a good job.
Just gotta be openminded, pacient and serious, and give the baby a lot of love.
=) Good luck!

I dont think teen mums are dumb, as long as your caring for your child properly and taking responsibility then whats the problem. I wouldn't encourage anyone to become a teen mum but sometimes it's to late and thats life. You sound like your doing a great job, your child is a very lucky child to have such a caring mum to put yoursefl through school and work to take care of it. You should be proud.

not all teen mom's can be put into one category , there are some like yourself that continue their education ,take care of their child and hold down a job, those that are self reliant and deserve credit for doing so . on the other hand some teen mom's depend on family members and others to take care of them and their child i wouldn't call them dumb just not mature enough to have a child

I do not think teen moms are dumb. I do however think that they made some wrong choices which complicated their lives. You seem like one of the ones who is doing a good job making right choices now.

It would have been better for them if they kept their legs closed.
Good for you that you have a job and are staying in school. Yo usee too many teen moms that don't do that. You are being smart, not dumb.
