Being an actor or actress. That is what they would call a "Genuine Occupational Qualification". So for example, it is legal to discriminate on gorunds of sex if you are looking for an actor/tress to fulfill a role in a play/film etc.

A carer.... the clients are exempt for obvious reasons. Female patients wouldn't accept a male carer to do their personal hygiene. Now.... male clients are also exempt and I do not know why but it is so. They are also exempt from the Age Discrimination active from Oct this year. God knows why as I think age has nothing to do with providing good care. Unfortunately, there is a lot going about male clients choosing young female carers for sexual purposes and I find it abusive.
