Any medium to large truck stop. If the rig has 110 volts (many do) then any compact microwave from Wally World should do as well.

If the plug-ins are standard two-prong (or maybe 2 prong with a ground prong) they are for 120V AC current, which means there is an inverter already installed. Then, you just need to know how many watts that inverter is delivering to know that maximum wattage microwave you can use. You might get lucky, if they are rated high enough, you just pick a micro that fits. The owners manual should have this info, or it may be on the faceplates of the outlets.

If the plugs are not AC, the easiest way to do this is to get a small wattage microwave, and an inverter that can handle it. Inverters change the 12V DC to the 120V AC that the microwave uses.

The Sunbeam SBM6500W microwave is only 600 Watts, which is well within the range of the inverters available. Once he had an inverter, many other 120V things could be used, too. A 1250Watt inverter is about $100.

well this is a tricky thing to do. micro waves come in different watts. now in order to run a micro wave or a television for that matter, he has to get whats call a power converter. the converter changes dc (battery power) to ac (what comes from your wall). for a television, a 800 watt converter is plenty. micro waves on the other hand come in a number of sizes and therefore different wattages. so first you need to determine the size of the microwave you wish to put in the truck and then find a converter that will handle that much electricity. i am a truck driver too and have a 800 watt micro wave that i wish to set up but i dont have the money at the moment to get an converterfor it. what i would suggest is that he get the 2500-3000 watt converter and "hardwire" it to the truck. that will allow all of his regular plugs to be used. these sizes will handle about anything he could need to plug in.

If he has 120 volts AC in his truck (generator or inverter) then buy a small household microwave. That would be the cheapest way. Or good to a RV dealer or RV parts store and ask them for one (allot more $).
