Extremely didactic, and bona fide Question asked by Barkha, Congratulations!
Indubitably, it is a matter of immense honour to answer such a fantastic and persuasive Question….
Although the Teachings of Mahatma Gandhi have vital essence in every age but indisputably are obligatory in today’s acquisitive world. In today’s swift life people are forgetting the significance of peace, non-violence and truthfulness; and this is the reason they are becoming intolerant and irascible. They are incapable to impart good moral values to the generation to come, which is a very heartrending and a pathetic state, indeed.
Next…, it may sound impractical to follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in this age, but once done with complete devotion and commitment it is not that thorny kind of thing. What is required is the will power to practice this. I want to add that today’s generation has got that determination and self-discipline to do this, but unfortunately, no one is there to take the initiative at all !!!

Nice Question...
I guess yes. We can follow the teaching of Manatma Gandhi but see that you do your best. You can never be 100% of someone, but you can try to be atleast 80%.
Ones you cross 60% and reach 80% then you are doing good and its just great. Everyone would appreciate you, even Gandhi himself.
Gandhi is the man of the Present and the Future.
Cheers!

Mahatma Gandhi teachings were not followed even during his own time, though every one tries to put his name. He was against to the partiation of the country. He suggested to convert Congress into a service organisation and let people in politics may form their own parties...like wise we may says many things.
Interestingly, Gandhi never succeded in any agitation initiated by him. He disruptedly suspended all the agitations with out reaching logical conclusion. but we got independence in his name. Two major mistakes he has done was making Nehru as prime minsiter, though Congress cadre interested in Patel and supporting Kilafat stir.
The greatness of Gandhi stands taking independence movement to the people's court. Large number of ordinary and common people participated in the independence movement due to the inspiration and leadership given by him. The major teaching we can learn is `Peoples Power is Nations Power'. If one need to follow him is to put belief on people than on political power.

It is really difficult to follow the teachings of mahatma Gandhi in today's life because everybody is in fast and they do not want to stop and listen to it. But if we think we can do any thing. So following his full teachings is not possible for us in this advanced world. We can follow his teachings by modifying them. By this way we can do credit to him

I don't think so, Actually I think this is a whole new generation and in here the teachings of Gandhi doesn't work at all....Sometimes it does but not everything. If ur thinking of doing Gandhigiri with a criminal then I think its a foolish idea. You can try gandhigiri at some places but never do it just like that....You should be polite and can achieve what ever you want with a calm mind. So he happy and be polite to everyone thats all u can do....

we cant say that we have to follow his teachings forever...but time comes when we have to follow his teachings..so.,you have to know about the situation which you are facing at that moment in a particular way..
suppose look at these examples:
when you show your two cheeks to the other person who had already given a slap in this age,the other person will surely beat you..
here you feel not to follow gandhis teachings
victory comes to the people who follow true manner..
in this case you have to follow gandhis teachings...
so.,think forward before taking any right decision..
all the best...

Well going by the Bible, YES we can. But in todays times, even Had the Mahatma LIVED UP TO IT, His rules would have been amended such as IF SOME ONE SLAPS YOU, DONT OFFER HIM YOUR CHEEK, KICK HIM IN THE BALLS. If someone abuses you, throw his *** in the gutter. Survival of the fittest, would have been the order of the MAHATMA, with all due reverred respect to him.

Of course, Any age you can follow Truth, Nonviolence and Compassion. The teachings of Gandhiji is not new.Only he rekindled the basic goodness in human Nature which is God given. But always it needs strength of character to practice.
