I always prefered the soft ones becase the hard ones had a tendency to grind into the temples or the spot right behind me ears and either give me a headache or bruises, or both. Also soft ones can be pinned with bobby pins to hold them in place while your out in public.

I think that the hard ones are way cuter. When I think of soft headbands I think of like sweatbands. I really like the black, shiny plastic ones.

i use a scarf or big handkerchif because they're soft and you can dress them either up or down and since they're colorful they match anything. but since you asked about soft or hard ones, i'd say that i like the hard ones better. you should use a thicker one that's way different than your haircolor and then tie your hair up in a mid height pony tail. it looks really cute. especially with a blazer layerd over a spaghetti strap with a long doubled necklace, skinny jeans, and flat shoes. =)

I like soft head bands better,I tried the hard one and it gives me pain at the back of my ears.
