Yes, and you should care too. Most illegal drugs are addictive, which means many of your "clients" will be commiting crimes to fund their craving. This places extra demands on the police, and also causes an effective "loss of income" to poor or heavily in debt people, because they have to spend money they don't have to protect themselves. It also causes a loss in taxes because you won't be claiming your full income, and neither will some of your clients, they will be claiming welfare while actually working.
Then when your client finally gets caught, they will be sent to jail at the governments expense, and when they get out they will get a low paid job because of their criminal record.
Yes. The government cares.
But more important, you should care too!

If you were doing it in my neighborhood I would turn you in, or take the matter into my own hands and have a little citizen justice.
