We are running out of resources and space. The world is growing smaller by the minute. These ideological clashes were inevitable. Its gonna get worse before it gets better.

There never was and never will be peace, but your cause is incorrect. It's human nature I suspect.
If it was all for oil then that would be the only place that had war. Right now the Islam-Fascist are doing a real good job finding new reasons to hate around the world, few associated with oil.

Well, oil is going to run out one day no matter what the Republicans say. (More likely, we will be long dead before it does because we will fry to death under global warming). So we won't be importing oil forever.
Next 100 years though, yeah, we will be waging war all the time...
