They're the same things, but in different parts of the world. Hurricanes in the US/Canada, Typhoons in South East Asia, Cyclones in Australia etc. Viewed from satellite pictures, they look the same.

They are all the same, the name changes according to the geography, hurricanes happens in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans in North America, typhoons in Asia and cyclones below the equator
