I saw this news in some magazine noting that mens have more IQ than women in average by an amount3.5 .They tells that at young age both will have the same but when they cross 18 boys gains extra IQ naturally and it is same all over the world.I think it has vibrated the 100 year belief that both the men and women are equal in mental ability.

The irony here is that it is true.
I love all the counter arguments that provide NO EVIDENCE whatsoever other than politically correct bull. I think it is fallacious to assume simply because men score slightly higher than women that we are smarter. This isn't necessarily true. It could be true, but this is an average for gods sakes. A 3 point difference in IQ is almost negligible (depending on the normation of the test, this could be anywhere from 1-6 more questions answered correctly, but probably around 3. Big deal).
Men tend to score higher than women on IQ tests by about 3 points. This is fairly well documented, as well.
Men tend to outperform women especially on fluid/g loaded IQ tests. It is a well known psychological fact that men outperform women on visual-spatial tasks, as well as abstract reasoning.
Women tend to perform stronger than men however, on verbal and crystalized portions of tests. Ironically, however, as of more recently much of these sections have been excluded from tests due to validity reasons...IE an IQ test shouldn't test knowledge, which is the problem with verbal questions. Verbal analogies are rarely used when testing adult intelligence today.
It should also be noted that women deviate less from the mean than men, as well. What this means is most women tend to score around the mean (95-105). Men however, deviate from the mean much more, tending to score from 80-120 on average.
Men account for most of the IQ's over 150 and most of the IQ's under 70. Most of the criminal population is men, as well as the portion of the population that is low IQ. Women account for only 1/10th of the IQ's over 150 and a very small portion of the retarded population.

Legend has it the first IQ tests showed women had higher IQ's than men, so the inventors (men, of course) changed the test's (cheated????) to give men better IQ's than women.
For the report to be considered accurate, the IQ tests would have to be shown to have been completely unbiased and fair. I suspect this wasn't done, in which case the report isn't accurate.

I read another study that most woman have higher IQ's than men. It was always thought that men had higher IQ"s because of the positions they held in society. Those positions mainly derived from the strong survive right from the beginning.
In my opinion, know one really knows, or can actually determine who is smarter.

Scientists have reported this? When in 1876? Men have been saying a lot of derogatory things about women since the beginning of time. Does this make it true? Just think for yourself. Who in your immediate area, that you interact with, would you say is smarter?
Also, people don't need to ridicule someone who does not speak/write English as their mother tongue!

No, I have learned not to take the latest studies as God's truth. (Case in point, eggs being healthy-how many conflicting studies have there been on that one?). If the results of study after study have consistantly shown the same outcome, then I will believe it. Until then, it's open for debate.
