It is not a matter of being wise or stupid. He did act accordingly as a normal uncontrollable response to a highly stressful situation. "To fight" is the usual initial response in situations like what is cited here. Family protection is another instinctual factor involved in this situation. He did what he could and took all the chances of achieving to win despite of his foreseeable death. There was no favorable option to choose. He dared to face the danger and sacrificed his life, so I would honor him for what he did.☺

I think that this father reacted with pure emotion, most men believe that it is there 'duty' to protect and provide for their family, and when the 'all short' for one reason or another they feel that they have not or are not meeting their responsibilities. His adrenaline must have been at a all time high, and his fear. Most parents, mom or dad, would die for their children trying to protect them. I would like to think that at that moment, this man was trying to due everything in his power to save his family. What a sad, sad happening and it breaks my heart for this family. I would NOT say that 'dad' was stupid, no! I don't know about being a 'hero' but his family may feel that he was. Which brings one more thing to mind, why can't we just leave it there? This family has a lot of healing to do, and the last thing that they need, most of all the daughter who was victimized, is to hear that her father was 'stupid' for the choice he made. How do any of us know how we would react in such a horrible situation. Just a post note here, my husband and I have had conversations about just this, and he has always said that they would have to kill him first, before he let this happen, would he? Put in that situation, calmer minds might provail, but who knows?

The father may have overcome the robbers somehow, or deterred them into not raping his daughter. They may have just left.
It was his duty as a father to protect his family from harms way even if the odds were against him. The father did indeed die as a hero, not a stupid man.

The father's action is not wise nor stupid but instinct. If your finger is being burned you instinctively pull away from the fire. In the same instant the father instinctively fight off the robbers to protect his love ones. This is true in all mammals.

The life of God is acceptable seen as a speculation with regard to the universe. that isn't the only such speculation; the Hindus have an incredibly diverse one, as do the Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Shinto, and so on. So we've countless claims with regard to the life of countless gods. And it would not come right down to "Christian God or no God", with something surprising or likely not likely being, via default, data for the Christian God. what's mandatory is data for the life of one of those many gods that've been proposed. so a techniques, not one of the international's religions have presented any sturdy data for his or her gods. meaning we are left with the default answer to any speculation: "probable No, till you have have been given some sturdy data." So, do you have some sturdy data, or once you're saying "scientific motives" are you thinking of those "surprising or likely not likely" observations i discussed above? Edit: Happycat, you do comprehend, do not you, that the Earth's orbit varies plenty extra beneficial than 0.5 a millimeter over the process its orbit? And that 0.5 a millimeter is a trifling distance astronomically? The Earth makes its closest annual techniques-set to the solar for the time of the iciness in the northern hemisphere, meaning that being slightly closer to the solar isn't sufficient of a difference to override the difference brought about via the lean of the Earth's axis.

what would you do if you were a father & your daughter being raped infront of your eyes??? you will resist & try to fight with them.
no, i dun think he acted like a hero. it's his daughter & he has the duty to protect his own family from danger.
but lost his own life for his daughter, did not become a hero but got respect from his daughter & wife.
