because if we voted green all the time we could see other consequences like economic hardship, expanded poverty, and so on. What we have to do is find a balance. Los Angles has gotten much cleaner over the past twenty years.
What we have done is to balance consumer choice, social advocacy, and government regulation to try and find that happy medium. Sure in theory voting green would be great, but people often overlook all sides of the equation.

Do you think the Green party is the answer? Considering what they want to do, hwo are they going to pay for any of their programs? Are they going to collect taxes or fines from businesses they will eventually want to close for environmental violations? What is their political stances on things other than the enviroment? If the environment is their only platform, doesn't that make them more of a P.A.C. than anything else? I do care about the health of the planet but there is more to it than drop everything else and scrub a leaf and plant a seedling.

Because big oil has sponcered pseduo studies saying the enviornemnt is okay while main stream science says we are in deep dookie. They prefer to listen to their finincail backers rahter than the facts! Al Bore made one hell of a presentation on Oprah yesterday

Because it costs money to clean up the environment, and may lead to a reduction in some of the accoutrements we enjoy. Besides, the US can implement 100% GREEN and the planet will still be polluted by emerging 3d world nations, Mexico, and the former Soviet Union...

Perhaps the 'Green Party' doesn't offer the political platform that appeals to most voters. Greed and power have been around the planet for much longer - and doesn't the Green Party want power?
