There is an amazing shop in Bournemouth that I buy all my gifts from, all one offs or hand made. They have a website that you can order from. The company is owned by a lovely family and is named after their son and pet !! Noone will be able to out do your present and they are all of very high quality yet highly affordable.

What about some kind of "pampering" pack with creams, powders, bubble bath. A nice platter or cake stand, or some nice tea cups if she's into that. Nice framed pictures to go with one of her rooms. A lamp. a decorative vase. If she cooks there's the Nigella Lawson cookware which is a bit retro looking but appeals to older women too.

At www.harmonyhandloom.co.uk all items are individual. The shawls are designer. I am female and I know these are the best shawls in the whole of the country. The bedspreads are also designer too.

since u r getting 1 present, why not get two.
(1) Make a dish she likes
(2) Buy her something for her hobby (gardening tools, day out experience, ticket to a musical).
I think these are 'safe' presents! lol

What do you think she would like? Does she have any special interests? Or she could be like my mother-in-law was no matter what you give her she won't be happy with it. Good luck!
