Pune to Shirdi in December with infant?

Question

I want to plan a Pune to Shirdi visit in last week of December with an 8 month old infant. I am worried about travel by private taxis as the drivers dont drive carefully. For buses, I am thinking that I might have to plan an overnite stay. Please suggest on,

- possible travel options
- stay options
- road conditions
- weather around that time

I am not a Pune resident, but have a place to stay in Pune already, so please comment on Shirdi stay options.

Travel by road.Volvos,Shivneris And asiads are good.Roads are Ok.

Weather will be cold, so traveling in night with the Baby will not be a good idea.

There are so many hotels from Rs.150/ . per day onwards depending on the distance from the Temple.

Near year end there will be crowds so avoid that week.

There are 2 routes for Shirdi from Pune. a million) Pune - Chakan - Sangamner - Talegaon - Shirdi... 183 km 2) Pune - Shirur - Ahmednagar - Shirdi....................... 2 hundred km Out of above those 2 routes maximum visitors & excursion operators prefer 2d determination that's Pune - Ahmednagar - Shirdi by way of fact the line between Sangamner to Shirdi no longer sturdy. it particularly is extra useful to ignore saving few kilometers.
