Page recently attended the induction of Led Zeppelin to the UK Music Hall Of Fame. During an interview for the BBC for said event, he expressed plans to record new material in 2007, saying : - "It's an album that I need to get out of my system... there's a good album in there and it's ready to come out."

Right now he's in England, supposedly doing pre-production on a new album. Don't hold any high expectations though. When last seen in public, he looked like his age was finally catching up with him.
His contemporaries, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton still look and sound reasonably young, although they're close to 60. Page looks like he's 75, paunchy, balding and grey. He hasn't recorded anything new in years.
If I had to choose between the 3 of them, my money would be heavily on Jeff Beck. Even though Clapton is more successful commercially, Beck is the player with the freshest chops hands down.
Page really needs a good frontman to carry a band, and there's no chance of reuniting with Robert Plant, or even Paul Rogers, so his new disc better be all instrumental, or it'll flop badly.
