Who wants it?
Your life then becomes everyone elses life. Having a million psychos want to skin you and wear you. Not able to go anywhere without being taunted. Having a never ending amount of photoshop pics on the net showing you banging some cow or something else. You can't do anything in public beacause some one will take a picture of you. You will have to have lawyers in every country because some chick or guy says you got them pregnant or raped them while they were sleeping using your mind powers.

In other word
No thank you

I think that, with a few exceptions, people who work in the entertainment industry can choose not to have so much of the fame if they wish. Not every actor or singer puts themselves in the spotlight by going out to places the paps are. You never really get someone like Kate Winslet in the papers much because she chooses to live a very boring, normal life. You might get the odd 'spotted' type picture but all she's doing is walking down a street or something. It's not really impeding on her life. But if you are the Beckhams, for example, they are choosing to put their relationship out there to promote their own products so they have to play the game when it comes to being photographed all the time. And as for this trend of the young famous girls to have no knickers on, that's just ridiculous and as near to demanding attention as it gets.

I was an extra in the film "51st State" and can honestly say that the fame is definitely not worth it. In fact, I barely notice any difference compared to my life before I became famous.

well, if acting or singing is your passion, then ya, no one should stop you from that!!!!

you know they say that whatever age you become famous at, is the age you will remain.....for e.g.

michael jackson became famous when he was really young, hence why he wants to play with children and owns like an amuesment park

robbie williams became famous at 16, hence why he is always acting stupid and chasing after girls

and george clooney became famous at an old enough age(in comparison) hence why he is so well rounded and normal!

without sounding too pretentious, I see these reality TV stars for a week plastered all over the papers in the tat section and can't help feeling they've sold their soul for very little in return.

The true artists, performers, sports stars etc., or those with a true calling in to life in the public eye (presenters etc..) fair much better and seem to get a decent return.

However, if they step out of line they're brutally chastised and it seems that the gutter press feel it's almost imperative to impose a 'trial' of sorts to test the true mettle of anyone who gains the most popularity. Could I be bothered with that? Nah, I'll take the quiet life thanks.

I think it's worth it in the young stages, when you make loads of money. Then you can escape into obscurity and everyone will forget you existed, but you will still have all your money! Sadly celebs don't seem content with this and strive to be in the limelight, becomming depressed when they are shunned.

I think that anyone who wants to be famous, just to be famous, is wasting their time.
The reclusive American writer and poet, Linda J Cirillo, does not want fame.

All she desires is her Virginia Slims, her Princess, her cat and dog and a Clown-Head.

What more does one require in this life.

Fame?

Yes, of course.

At least when you die, some people will care that you lived.

Being famous can have many benefits. You can encourage people, make them feel better about themselves, believe in themselves. Make people give to your favourite charity. Loads of stuff.

Absolutly!
It all depends on how you handle it. The happiest celebrities are the ones who manage their privacy and keep the press at arms length! or know how to use the press to their advantage. But if you do that then you can fall foul of them as well!

Those who handle it best are the ones who stay grounded.

some time i wonder exactly that, first off: it would be nice having all that money and people knowing who you are. down side: paparazzi, people never leaving you alone, invasion of privacy on a massive scale, everyone knows what you do when you do it. personally i don't think it is worth it
