If the question is what is "a" profile; it is simply one MORE form that you can fill in when you have nothing else to do. But unlike Intake, Application, Business, Government etc. "forms", you don't go to jail if you don't fill them. And there is little chance of a penalty if you lie (but who lies when describing themselves to people they will never actually see). The most common use of this information has nothing to do with facilitating ANYTHING that you or we are trying to do though. Typically any information is used by folks like Capital One; so they know who should get an app. once a week and who should get one every other day.
But if the question is what is MY profile; I would say short and portly leaning towards fat.
As for those who find amusement in pompous critique of those who DON'T do this for a living; your idiots. I am a self labeled "geek". I use MY 30 years of cussing and figuring this **** out to consult, assist, design systems, help with spec.s and lots of training. My students and clients are taught that these things are nothing more than rocks or screw-drivers. They are correctly understood as nothing more than tools; a "means" not the "end". And my purpose in life is to use MY skills and knowledge to see that they do not know any more about this stuff than neccesary.
A friend says that if this stuff actually worked every time, they wouldn't need us. A related detail that you folks should consider, if everyone knew and understood this stuff, we'd have to find something else to do for a living.
I'm not sure this has any value to anyone. But I AM sure most of the others provided NOTHING other than more hot air to inflate egos that are already bigger than justified.

I'm a shift supervisor in Manufacturing. My shift, I lead 12 people. Responsible for too many things to list. Very stressful.
