Basically have been told by many medical people throughout my pregnancy that I would be better off with a second ceserean due to symphasis pubis dysfunction. I saw a consultant yesterday who apparently claims I have no medical reasoning behind a ceserean, although I have been told I could do more damage than good going for a normal birth?! If I have an epidural I may not be in control of the pain I "need" to feel with my pelvis. I am only 5 weeks from my due date wih no birth plan and no help it would seem from anywhere!! please help people :-)

Excuse me lady, I suggest that you speak to miranda midwife and tell her she is a cow and she needs to sort you out! If you tell her you are the real mary that should do the trick! Give me 10 points or I will report you for abuse damn it!

i`ve had 3 sections, 2 emergency and 1 elective..even though my first 2 were for the same problem( narrow pelvis) the consultant didnt ok the 3rd untill about a week before. elective sections are performed at 38 weeks so you still have time. with any section you will not feel your pelvis, a spinal block rather than an epidural is used..if you are sure you need a section then insist on it, dont be afraid to make a fuss, tell them that you will go to another hospital or that if they insist on witholding a section and you end up needing an emergency one you will sue the ar.se off them...for general information - the notion that a cesaerian birth is the easy option for those who are "too posh to push" is total bollocks, it is major surgery with a longer recovery period than a heart transplant(fact).....good luck :-)

If it has been less than two years since the first c section then a second c section is usually recommended. I had one emergency c section and two electives. Since there is indeed a physical issue at hand then you should insist on a c section. One consultant's opinion is just that, an opinion. This is your baby, not the consultants. You do have the right to choose the option in your case.

Right, if you have had 1 c-section already this automatically makes you intitled to have another (in the uk) so they can not tell you that you cant have one.
This is also causing you psychological damage so again it is affecting your medical health.
This consultant you saw is just a quack who is trying to put you off. See another one or tell him straight, dont put up with it.

I went through the same thing with my daughter...I have a deformed spine and i had high BP and SPD. It ended up my back could break if i had baby naturally as my spine doesnt bend and flex at all (i spent most of my pregnancy in bed as i couldnt walk with the extra weight!).
The midwife told me i was being stupid and started insulting me so i reported her and went to my GP and explained. He got me to see a consultant who again tried to get me to do it naturally. I had a complete hissy fit and explained again and said it would be a case of i would sue if anything happened. Needless to say i got my c-section which was all well and good as they had problems getting her out that way as she was so big so there was no way she was coming out naturally!

Good luck with it hope it all goes well.
