Wow tonalc1,,,,, You know your stuff.
Yea, husbands are a *bit* more likely to drink etc, but at least they're loyal.... one can allways sober up, one cannot, however, stop being an adulteress.

If a woman doesn't trust her husband she will initiate a divorce.
Is that too confusing for you? It's almost painting by numbers.

the two-thirds figure is low. For a couple reasons. First, most of the studies I've seen put the figure at 66 to 79 percent - but that's just a guess, because a lot of people just show up at a lawyer's office and say they are incompatible and want a divorce, and there is no actual record of who exactly initiated it. Women also (and if you doubt this, talk to a lawyer that handles a lot of divorces) once they have decided they want out, will, being cognizant of how much better a deal they will get if the man initiates the proceedings, will make the living situation so intolerable that the man will file. They'll ignore him, stop sleeping with him, criticize him constantly, etc. (Men do this too, but not as much).
I would say, at least based observation and experience, that while men may in fact be more likely to screw up, there are certainly a lot of women that have completely unrealistic expectations and are WAY too quick to give up on a relationship and resume their search for a likely non-existent prince charming. I've seen it and I've experienced it.
But I don't think a woman's trustworthiness - or real or imagined lack therof - has much to do with this issue, or, for that matter, with a lot of breakups.

Trust issues go both ways. I do not think women initiate 92% of divorces. The way I usually hear of it is when the woman catches the man cheating or the man falls in love with someone from the office and leaves the family.

Women initiate more like 70% of divorces (which is still high) and they do this because they come out on top when divorce happens. There is no incentive to work out a relationship for a woman because they get more freedom and money when they get divorced, some women use marriage as a business. I for one will not get married and become a slave to a woman.

Two-thirds of all divorces are initiated by women. One recent study found that many of the reasons for this have to do with the nature of our divorce laws.
For example, in most states women have a good chance of receiving custody of their children. Because women more strongly want to keep their children with them, in states where there is a presumption of shared custody with the husband the percentage of women who initiate divorces is much lower.
Also, the higher rate of women initiators is probably due to the fact that men are more likely to be "badly behaved." Husbands, for example, are more likely than wives to have problems with drinking, drug abuse, and infidelity.

Women initiate it because they've probably tried and tried many times over to make the relationship work. Then when she sits down with the husband to explain that there is no hope, the guy is ususally stubborn and acts like he don't care and tells her to get the paper work ready and he'll sign. Then when he actually gets them, he sees that she is for real, and starts trying to suddenly fix everything, but then it's too late! Ha!

If your statistic of 92% of divorces being initiated by women perhaps it is BECAUSE they can't trust the man they are with.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."
Hint: Since it's the woman who determines if/when she's scorned, it may or may not have anything to do with the man. She just might have, as has been mentioned, unrealistic expectations...the kind you get from TV and reading too many romance novels (the "porn" of the feminine world). Sadly, this is the case more often than not, these days.

I would say that 92% is wildly inaccurate. However, I do believe that more women file for divorce, but that does not make them the untrusted spouse. Perhaps they are filing for divorce because the husband cannot be trusted.

If adult men did not commit, no one could ever get married. that is declared that eighty% of folk gets married of their existence faster or later in time. So adult men do commit. As for this finished "western" component... my husband is the guy who cheated and filed for divorce so do not say that is in simple terms women. LOL, Salacious!
