It seems Badrinath was not selected just because Dravid has not seen him. it is really bad, Dravid who himself had toiled to be part of this team, especially the ODI team, should empathise with the other players who are doing well in the domestic circuit.......

He should be heard but no real power to include or exclude players. Since Captains can be biased and the selection can be biased too. See the exclusion of Ganguly for 10 months but BCCI is still continuing with Sehwag/Tendulkar. Captain alongwith the coach should be heard but they should not interfere with. Or make them a part of the selection committee.

I certainly agree that Dravid's remarks for Badrinath should not have been considered by Vengsarkar. If he is playing so superbly how u can reject on the basis of the whims of the Captain. It is really bad. But it is good that Vengsarkar has admitted.

Yes they should interfere after all its the captain who has to led the team but u have to sympathize with Rahul at the moment. Currently team is running through a horrid time, and he himself has seen that youngsters are struggling getting into rhythm's, forget youngsters, even senior are failing to deliver the goods. So how can he take such a chance by bringing another youngster when everybody are after his head, because its the Captain in the end who has to take all the criticism for the teams performance

the captain must interfere only if he plays a good cricket like jayawardene and he go through the performance of the domestic players. rahul is not at all fit for a captain & it is in inexcuseable reason for dropping badrinath.i think he is not interested in captaincy much and is not involved on that much.to say rahul shold not interfere in the selection anymore.

Yes, they should interfere in the selection because it is the captain who has to play with the team in the end at the ground. So he should have full right to slect his team.

yaa a good question
yes captain should interfear in the team selection as the selectors are not going to play the match the team is going to play. so i think ganguly should be callled back in the team by dravid whho is the captain of our team.

Captain can suggest the selection commity. But he can't force the commity to select or not to select a player.

they should not interfere in selection .....captain duty is to control the 11 players or a squad, not to pick up the players....
