Just a little warning before traditional gift giving time.


**Well the crooks have found a way to rob you of your gift card balance.




If you buy Gift Cards from a display rack that has various store
cards you may become a victim of theft. Crooks are now jotting down
the card numbers in the store and then wait a few days and call to
see how much of a balance THEY have on the card. Once they find the
card is "activated", and then they go online and start shopping.
You may want to purchase your card from a customer service person,
where they do not have the Gift Cards viewable to the public.**

Some cards (Wal-Mart) have a scratch off on the back to reveal the numbers,if you find one that has been sctratched off don't purchase it.Not for sure about other cards.

hmm...I never thought of that. thats a good thing to know. its really sad how people can be so low as to do that. i am throughly dusgusted. anyways...thanks for letting me know that as I am planning on a gift card ofr my father for Christmas. Luckly where I'm planning to get it from keeps them behind the counter and the receiver of the card has to activate it on purchase. probably because of dunma$$es like that. Merry Christmas!

Alot of gift cards have a scratch off on the back so they wouldn't be able to do that.
