Yup! Sure does. And anyone who says they have NEVER told a lie is..........you guessed it, lying!!

I try not to lie but sometimes it's better than telling your friend she looks like crap or whatever!! :-) I got it, I am a white liar!! lol!

Only an absolutely fearless person will have no need to lie ....... there is no such person in reality since fear comes from weakness and everyone has some or the other or more.

Thus, we are not only liars, we are timid and also weak. Therefore, the issue becomes pointless unless we take into account the degree .....
so one is a liar only if one more often lies than not. That should be something for us to cheer up!!

You , and only YOU can be absolutely sure that you are lying. The others , if they say you are lying it is their perception of you. That the others saying you are a lier DOES NOT make you a lier.

In a like way , your saying that the others are liers is also not correct. In this case you are not lying but you are ignorant.

In a larger frame of things , certain lies are not "morally "wrong lies. A mother tells a lie to her child saying the dragon will come if the child does not eat food ! To help a friend in mentally disturbed state I tell him that all he does are simply great. In these situations these are not seen as "lies" .

We are so uncomfortable sometimes lying that now we have even classified lies into white lies, '''wicked/cruel'' lies, compulsive lying. We convince and categorise ourselves saying this lie was said cos' we had good intention, and that lie was said cos' thats what we wanted to tell the other person, out of some personal interest. Everything is justified.

Like truth, lies are quite a part of us, which we hate admitting. But it is there, in us, in all of us. You cannot generalise and say everyone lies, nor can you say everyones truthful. Its a mix of both.

This is a linguistic problem. It's much easier to deal with in Spanish. The spanish have 2 forms of the verb to be. One is for a state ie being drunk, this other is for a characteristic ie being a drunk. If you tell a lie on the odd occasion, as most of us do, it is a state, if it is in your nature to lie, if it is a characteristic of your person you are a liar.

Using that rationale, yes. But what proof do you have that everyone is always lying at all times and can't do anything but lie?

"Liar" is merely a pejorative term.

"Looser" would be a more honest description, since it's what a mob do to an individual as scapegoat.

every one eats drinks and sleeps...
Doe that make us a glutton, alcoholic, or a slug? We are flawed human beings. If you think you are perfect honey then you are lying to yourself.
