First , with the car in PARK,and Emergency brake on, ask a friend to lightly step on the gas, rev only to about 2000 RPM, hold it steady, and put you hand briefly near the tailpipe, you should feel a large change in exhaust pressure from it idleing to being reved up. If you feel very little change...you need it checked out further, and I mean before you burn the engine up. The shop can put the electronic analyser on it for around 30 dollars here locally and tell you if the exhaust readings are way off...which they will be if the exhaust is plugged at the converter. Exhaust converters have longer warrantys than the cars standard warranty, in some cases...so get it looked at. I promise you this, if it is plugged now...and you repalced it...you will get more power, better gas mileage, and your engine will last longer. So even if you have to pay out of your pocket ...you will save a bunch and be miles ahead in time.

yoiks ! lead kills converters , it coats the platinum and the reaction cannot take place , a tune up shop can do an exhaust gas analysis on your car and check the temperature of the converter when warm, hope it's not toast, those are not cheap ! please use the correct fuel , if you can't find any where you live have a converter by-pass pipe installed. good luck !
