Open your Word document, then from "File" menu select "Save as Web Page".
Now define a name and a title for your file and save it successfully.

If you have the document open in Word, you can save it to an HTML document from the "save as" command. However, if you have Dreamweaver, you'd be better off opening the Word doc in that program and saving out to HTML; Dreamweaver will nix all the junk code that Word unnecessarily adds.
