Consult w/ your baby's doctor first.. it might just be that brand of soy formula. If you change brands and he is still having problems then try the lactose formulas.. but give each formula about 2 weeks trial before changing to the next, and keep the Dr. informed on his progress.
I went thru six different formula w/ my daughter before we found the right formula and the right brand. Congratulations and Good Luck

My daughter is lactose intolerant and I changed to s26 lactose free it is wonderful she is much more content. Any formula can give a baby constipation though try diluted prune juice, boiled water. See your doctor or nurse if you get s26 prescribed by a pediatrician you can get 5 cans for $10 in bulk good luck

all lactose free formula is soy based, that I know of. There are glycerine suppositories out there intended for children, even infants. You can also put a little kayro syrup in his formula. The sugar will get him going. Many kids about his age are still trying to get there syste figured out so it is not uncommon to go a day or 2 w/o going. if he goes and it is hard or if he seems like he is straining then he probably is constipated though.
