I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and you have oedema, water bleeding into the tissues and sometimes this can indicate a heart or kidney problem. If you haven't had it checked do so as soon as possible.Your body is telling you something

you should see a doctor. Could be from several causes. Diabetes will do it. So will a blood clot. Also there's some rare type of disease that causes limbs to swell. Probably not that.. you could be retaining fluid due to a blocked gland. My mom's doctor thought that's what she had when her gland got hard and swollen and she started to retain water but no she just had cancer...so definitely see a doctor could just be you need a different type of shoe

Could it be you have a cut and your foot got infected? It's quite common, but the pain gets to be unbearable, get to your doctor asap. Do you have a medical book, that describes conditions, symptoms & illnesses?
If this is getting worse, you might have to go to the emergency Room @ your local hospital.
Best wishes. I'll pray for you

Swelling around the ankles can be a sign of an underlying problem. Get to your GP and they will check it out.
