She doesn't bite really, she just sort of nibbles on my clothes, buttons, and occasionally my finger. Why is she doing this and how can I get her to stop?

First question I have is what kind of hedgehog to your have? The African Pygmy kind or the full size European one?

They do behave someone alike.

The other poster was correct. They explore with their mouths, just like human infants do. You could try using Bitter Apple spray on the item you don't want her to chew. If she is an African hedgehog, the weird taste & smell will probably cause her to do another strange behavior known as annointing. Basically when hedgehogs encounter a weird or new smell they will foam and the mouth and spread the foamy spit all over their back quills. It's actually quite fun to watch. And it's a totally normal behavior, so don't panic.

Try to keep her interested in exploring. Place insect foods in small tubes, like toilet paper rolls, and let her get them out. Hedgehog diets normally are bugs. They love earthworms, meal worms, and crickets, but the crickets are harder for them to catch. They also will run on wheels, like hamsters.

That's natural behavior. Do a search about hedgehogs on your browser.
