you shouldnt have promised your son anything.
people will sell something on ebay for what others will buy it for, thats an auction....
how about you stop giving your hard earned cash to sony (for something that your son will want rid of in 3 years time and will only sell for 1/10th of the price you bought it for) and think about giving some money to a charity at xmas?

its never too early for your son to understand how lucky he is to have a roof over his head and food to eat everyday.

I believe this is like "scalping" for Superbowl tickets (etc...). I think this should be illegal. Also, I don't like this strategy by the game makers. If you're going to sell these machines, why only very few per store? I am stationed in Ramstein, Germany and our Base Exchanges have a raffle ticket -- I thought they were giving away the PS3 as the prize! -- but the prize was a chance to BUY the PS3 if you win. I'd rather wait until all this blows over and there are enough games on the shelves to buy it. My kids have all the latest games anyway -- when Gameboy came out, they got it, PSP, they got it, Playstation, XBox, etc. (The only thing they do not have is GameCube).
: )

I quit selling on ebay due to the fact people expect you to give your things away. also postal is so high these days that its not worth it for the buyer. I try to sell cheap because the postal wants so much but could not make any money at it, we do have seller fees to pay, are you aware of that. hope you rethink it all for the ones who still can sell on ebay and make a little money for there work.

Millions of people are out of luck, not just your son. Especially the person that was shot while waiting in line. Besides, the systems that have been released have tons of bugs in them so most of them have to be sent in for repair before they can even play games.
