would my hamster die if?

hi I have another question about matt. when my older sister downstairs cooks and the smell of the soup goes up to the room will matt die?

You could push the soup under the hamster's nose and he'd be all right. So long as he doesn't drink it or sit in it. You can't really be killed by a scent.
