the most iconic dress has to be the white dress that Marylin Monroe wore in some like it hot. a lot of pictures / images of Marylin feature her wearing that dress, and when u see people dressing up like her, they always wear that white dress.

I first thought of Hepburn's LBD myself when I read your question - but Monroe's white dress is also really famous.

Btw gailyp77 is right, Liz Hurley's safety-pin dress has got to be the most famous one not worn in a movie

For me it is the dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breafast at Tiffanys. An absolute classic. I loved it so much I have just bought it for £410,000. I shall never wear it. It is a super investment. I also have the suit worn by Walter Pidgeon in Flypast. Together with the hat worn by Tom Mix in Cement.
ANY OFFERS FOR THESE ?????

The black one that Demi Moore wore in Indecent Proposal was very famous wasn't it, I remember all the shops had remakes of it, they were bloody horrible unlike the original!

It was long and had all bits cut out at the top, nice at the time I suppose!

Also the red one that Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman......fab

When i saw the question I immediately thought of Marilyn Monroe's white dress, and as i see that most other people replying think the same, then i would say that it has to be that one. Basically it has to the dress that most people think about first!
