I would like to put a logo on my webpage so it shows in the address window and when the webpage is saved in favorites or bookmarks

You'll need a program to create your own favicon images (.ico format); I like Microangelo Studio when I need a really detailed favicon (http://microangelo.us/xpref/How-to-make-icons.asp), but you can also use an online favicon generator like the one on Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ ).

The code Shaj entered is just right, but heads-up:
it goes BEFORE the closing head tag ( ), NOT between it and the beginning body tag.
