I need to write an 8 to 10 line seasonal metaphor poem like about the holidays or Christmas. It needs to have two or more metaphors. could you help me? any ideas?

Some ex. are The ones you love are presents.
The season is warm.
Peace is hope.
Love is the spirit.
Hearts are singing.
Christmas (or substitute another word) is a blessing.
Happiness is a smile.
Joy is laughter.
A smile is a pleasure.
Christmas is bright fireworks exploding inside of me.
My heart is a drum.
A smile is a warm feeling.
(I can't use any of these examples but i can tweak them so they are different)
please make it rhyme. the teacher said it has to rhyme

my poem only has to include two or more metaphors.
could you also tell me how i would divide my poem into like stanzas? like if i had 8 lines, i could do 4 lines and 4 lines or 2 lines 2 lines 2 lines 2 lines. or something else.
i would like it to be about just winter holidays. like christmas except not about christianity. THANKS!

This is your homework. Don't you have anyone to help you with your homework? Do you even understand what a methaphor is?

Use your imagination when deciding where to break the stanza, it's usually intuitive.

First, ignore the examples your teacher gave you. That can cause more confusion, and doesn't appear to be helping you.

Think about what the winter holidays mean to you, to begin. Start writing down general thoughts, write down ALL your thoughts, even ones you think are stupid, or sad.

After you are done writing down all your thoughts, when you are completely tired of writing stuff down, then start reading over what you've written and, if you wrote down "snow," think about what snow reminds you of. Is it soft like the music in the store elevator? And, is it white like the wings of fake angels on the top of decorated trees? Start writing down those types of things about the things you already wrote down.

Get it? Step two is to make these types of associations. Metaphors.

It doesn't have to rhyme but it should have a sort of rhythm. If you try to rhyme then you are going to restrict yourself to only words that rhyme. Now, if you CAN find a word that rhymes, great, but it doesn't have to rhyme, just let the words flow out of you.

Good luck.

I don't know if this will help BUT!!!!!!

Don't get shook and all uptight
If something is worth doing
It's worth doing right!!!!!

or
I did not know it could not be done
So I did it!

However if you are going to write, write what you feel. The words will come to you. Don't worry about any specific word or meaning.
Write from the heart and your thoughts.Mataphor's will get in there somehow and if they don't it's not a big deal.
