Ukranian local history??

I have a friend that is Ukranian. There is a Ukranian history book on ebay that is signed by an author. Would this make a good gift? Or is it a dumb idea?

You know your friend. I would be touched by someone's thought, at any rate, in buying a book like that for me, even if I wasn't so keen on the book...

Would you like a signed book on the history of you mother-land? If this friend like history then go for it. But if not...no.
