Wait, are you in high school? Because before you can even consider med school, you have to complete pre-med undergraduate studies. Most medical schools require a common set of science courses. All of the following courses include labs: 2 semesters of Biology 2 semesters of General Chemistry 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry 2 semesters of Physics Medical schools assume that your baccalaureate degree requires courses in mathematics (calculus might be preferred by some medical schools) and English. Some medical schools suggest a course in statistics. See the reference book, Medical School Admission Requirements (MSAR), published by the Association of American Medical Colleges. I attend Northeastern University, the following are the courses at Northeastern that will fulfill the prerequisite medical school course requirements. Biology BIOU101/102: Principles of Biology 1 o or BIOU111/112: General Biology 1 BIOU103/104: Principles of Biology 2 o or BIOU113/114: General Biology 2 General Chemistry CHMU211/212: General Chemistry 1 CHMU214/215: General Chemistry 2 Organic Chemistry CHMU311/312: Organic Chemistry 1 CHMU313/314: Organic Chemistry 2 Physics PHYU145/146: Physics for Life Sciences 1 o or PHYU151/152: Physics for Engineering 1 PHYU147/148: Physics for Life Sciences 2 o or PHYU155/156: Physics for Engineering 2 Math MTHU141/142: Calculus 1 and 2 MTHU151/152: Calculus and Differential Equations for Biology 1 and 2 MTHU130/131: College Math for Business and Economics; Calculus for Business and Economics MTHU241/242: Calculus 1 and 2 for Science and Engineering English ENGU111: College Writing The only thing you should be worried about right now is getting into an excellent undergraduate pre-med program. That is where your high school grades and standardized test scores will apply. Good luck!
